New UW-Whitewater Center to be dedicated Friday

WHITEWATER The newly renovated and updated James R. Connor University
Center (UC) on the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater campus will be
formally dedicated on Friday, Feb. 1 at 12:30 p.m.

The dedication will be held on the north concourse of the first floor (open
space directly across from the information desk) in the UC. Bob Barry,
executive director of the University Center, will be the Master of
Ceremonies.

Interim Chancellor Richard Telfer will welcome guests and Jimmy Pellizzi,
chair of SEAL, will give a short history of the UC project. Senior Shedrick
Daniels, recipient of the Rueben Klumb Award for Outstanding Seniors, and
Student Government President Nick Santilli will give special thanks and
recognitions. The building will be accepted on behalf of UW-Whitewater, and
Santilli, Interim Chancellor Telfer and former Chancellor James R. Connor,
of whom building is named, will cut the ribbon.

A small reception will follow the ribbon cutting featuring a cake resembling
the UC building. Building tours are available after the reception by campus
ambassadors, and guests can park in the new east parking lot.

Come join the fellow students and honored guests as UW-Whitewater dedicates
the first of its newly renovated buildings.
