Applications Due August 11
MADISON Don’t miss the opportunity to receive recognition as one of Wisconsin’s top minority-owned businesses. From now until August 11, the Wisconsin Department of Commerce Bureau of Minority Business Development is accepting applications for the 2008 Minority Business Awards. There are three award categories: Outstanding Minority Business (two awards based on business size to honor successful companies); Rising Star (honoring an emerging company that shows innovation and promise); and Good Citizen (honoring a company that gives back to society).
“I encourage all of our minority-owned businesses to submit applications for consideration,” said Commerce Secretary Jack L. Fischer, AIA. “It’s a great way to get their name and product or service out to the public.”
Awards will be made at the Marketplace 2008 Governor’s Conference on Minority Business Development, scheduled October 1 and 2, 2008 at the Wyndham Milwaukee Airport Hotel & Convention Hotel, Milwaukee. The top three applicants in each award category will be invited to the October 1 evening reception where the winner in each category will be announced. Winners will receive special recognition at the October 2nd luncheon and receive publicity to recognize their achievement.
