Markel American Insurance Company Announces Completion of Markel Builds Fun Project

WAUKESHA, Wis., April 3, 2008 /PRNewswire/ — Markel American Insurance Company announced today the completion of their custom motorcycle building project, Markel Builds Fun.

The five-month project culminated in the awarding of a custom-built motorcycle to Mark Meyer of Council Bluffs, IA. The motorcycle was delivered to Mr. Meyer earlier this year by one of the nation’s premiere motorcycle shipping companies, JC Motors of Irvine, CA.

“We were excited to finish the project, but sad to see the bike go,” said Timberlee Tamraz Grove, President and COO of Markel American. “The project was great fun and truly a labor of love for us.”

Markel American’s in-house bike builder, Mark Hoedel will now turn his attention to the next project — restoring and customizing a classic BMW motorcycle. “The last project really inspired us to find ways to show the motorcycle industry how much we love motorcycles,” said Hoedel.

Markel American would also like to thank everyone involved with the project. This includes:

  — Milwaukee Iron – Lynchburg, VA
— Hoban’s Cycle – Newton, WI
— Dark Horse Crank Works – Osman, WI
— Custom Chrome – Morgan Hill, CA
— Innovative Concepts – New Holstein, WI
— JC Motors – Orange County, CA
