Madison Agency Wins 35 Awards at the American Advertising Federation’s Local Awards Show

MADISON (WIS.), Feb. 25, 2008 – Knupp & Watson, a Madison-based advertising, marketing and public relations agency, received an outstanding 31 ADDY awards across an array of categories, three Best in Category awards and a Judge’s Choice Award at the local advertising competition Saturday.

“Our success at the ADDYs truly represents the diversity and breadth of our creative work,” said Knupp & Watson Creative Director, Andy Wallman. “We are honored to have won in out-of-home, non-traditional, TV, radio, direct mail, web, poster, collateral and logo categories, more categories than any other agency, and awards for 10 different clients.”

Knupp & Watson received eight Gold ADDY awards, all of which will go on to the regional competition, competing against work from American Association of Advertising Agencies in Wisconsin, Minnesota and the Dakotas. The company’s Goodwill campaign, noted for its newspaper pieces and truck wraps, was honored with a Gold ADDY. A clever Rocky Rococo radio campaign, featuring big names such as “Meatallica, Crustin Timberbake and Crustina Arugula,” also received a Gold ADDY, and was named Judge’s Choice (one of only five awarded).  Knupp & Watson received Gold mention for its Mt. Olympus TV campaign, and the non-traditional “Lucky/777” campaign, executed on behalf of Steve Brown Apartments.

“While our inventive, viral ‘Lucky/777’ campaign for Steve Brown Apartments really resonated with the campus demographic, something like our DOT radio spot, encouraging safe driving in construction zones, required a much different approach and thinking,” said Wallman. “Having so many of the campaigns bring so much success for our clients – that’s the best award.”

Aside from winning Best in Non-traditional campaign, Best in Newspaper campaign and Best in Radio campaign, the company received multiple Silver ADDYs, showcasing work done for Trac-Rite, the UW-Madison School of Veterinary Medicine, the Wisconsin School of Music Association, Goodwill, Steve Brown Apartments, Mt. Olympus, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the Wisconsin Department of Health and Family Services. Also receiving a Silver ADDY was the agency’s TV spot for the non-profit organization, Porchlight, which was created free-of-charge during Knupp & Watson’s annual Goodstock event.
