Governor Doyle Announces Marvel Equipment Update

Project to create 43 jobs

MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Marvel Manufacturing Company, Inc., will receive $250,000 in Tech Zone tax credits to help install new equipment at its Oshkosh facility. In turn, the company will create up to 43 new positions over a five-year period and retain 125 full-time jobs.  The expansions represent more than $2 million in investment.

““In order to compete in the global economy it’s important we move industries, companies, and communities forward, and create good-paying jobs for our citizens,” said Governor Doyle.  “I’m pleased that Marvel has chosen to again expand in Wisconsin, and that we could assist the company in bringing new jobs to Winnebago County and retaining jobs statewide.”

As we grow our business in the Oshkosh area we remain committed to our first premise that we will remain the leader in metal cutting, by means of offering the most technologically advanced product available in today’s marketplace,” said John Petek, CEO of Marvel. “We thank our employees, the surrounding business community, and our business partners for making this possible.”

Marvel Manufacturing Company was formed in 2004 by three former metal manufacturing executives James Jordan, John Petek and Robert Beach. The company manufactures metal cutting machine tools, specializing in the manufacture of Marvel band saws and the distribution, integration and support of Spartan Band saws and ironworkers.
