Donan Engineering Co., Inc. Announces 2008 Plan to Open Operations in Wisconsin
LOUISVILLE, Ky., Jan. 17 /PRNewswire/ — Donan Engineering Co., Inc. today announced plans to expand their forensic engineering and fire investigation operations into Wisconsin. Donan plans to begin offering forensic investigative services throughout the entire state from their new Milwaukee, Wisconsin office in mid-January of 2008. This new office will provide the state of Wisconsin with a local forensic engineering and fire investigation firm, whereas such services oftentimes remain being resourced from Chicago or the Twin Cities. Donan looks to soon employ civil, mechanical, and electrical engineers and full-time fire investigators in Wisconsin, creating a single source provider of forensic services.
“We’re finally beginning to implement a plan our customers have been calling for the last few years,” says Lyle Donan, President. “Ever since opening our office in South Bend, Indiana in 2002 and our Bloomington, Illinois in 2005, our customers have been pulling us into Chicago and as far north as Green Bay. Even with our historic travel costs, we feel we’ve been a competitively priced alternative for work in Wisconsin, but now with a local office, we finally feel like we’ll be in a position to provide the consistent service and lower cost we’re known for.”
Donan Engineering offers consumers a single source for investigating forensic engineering and fire origin and cause matters. The firm offers a wide array of services falling under the main categories of structural engineering investigations, fire and explosion origin & cause, roofing investigations, vehicle accident reconstruction, and component testing laboratory services with a nationwide mail-in program. Donan Engineering is a third generation family owned engineering firm that was founded in 1947 in Madisonville, Kentucky. From 1947 until 1999, the firm focused primarily on providing mostly conventional engineering services (civil, structural, environmental, architecture, etc.). In 1999, with approximately 20 employees in four offices, the decision was made to focus exclusively on the forensic engineering and fire investigation industry.
The firm is now headquartered in Louisville, Kentucky. Including Milwaukee, it now has almost 100 employees operating from 16 offices in eight states and a website located at http://www.donan.com/. From these locations the firm completed about 9,500 forensic investigations in 2007 for a client base consisting primarily of insurance companies, attorneys, commercial property owners and businesses, manufacturers, utilities and homeowners.
