Work on a second building by Logistics Health Inc. could start this summer with a projected completion date of next summer.

La Crosse mayor Mark Johnsrud told the La Crosse Tribune and other local media Thursday it looks like the city and the fast-growing company have an “agreement and concept” for the building.

The Common Council gathered Thursday night in closed session to get a status report from Johnsrud.

“I’m giving them an update on the status of negotiations and where we are at,” Johnsrud told the Tribune before the meeting, adding he had met with LHI chairman and CEO Don Weber earlier in the day. “A lot has transpired since the last time I talked to the council.”

Negotiations between the city and LHI have been confidential. The city hopes to have the agreement written by early next week and a council meeting will be held Thursday for a vote, Johnsrud said.

LHI opened a new corporate center at 328 S. Front St., next to Riverside Park in downtown La Crosse, last summer. Plans called for the second building to be just south of that building.
