Sonic Foundry Webcasts Autodesk’s 2007 User Conference

MADISON, Wis., Nov. 28 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ — Sonic Foundry(R), Inc. (NASDAQ:SOFO) , a leader in automated rich media communications technology, today announced the company’s Event Services group is webcasting Autodesk Inc.’s 15th annual Autodesk University (AU) user conference for the second year in a row. The event is taking place at the Venetian Resort Hotel in Las Vegas from November 27 – 30.

More than 9000 individuals from 67 countries are convening in Las Vegas to expand their knowledge of Autodesk’s industry-leading 2D and 3D software tools in order to be more innovative in their work and more competitive in the market. Conference attendees will participate in classes, presentations and events in Autodesk’s core industries including manufacturing, infrastructure, building, and media and entertainment.

Sonic Foundry’s Services team and partners are working on-site to capture the audio, video and visual aids for more than 300 sessions in 23 rooms simultaneously, ensuring the recordings are done in a non-intrusive way. The presentations will be automatically synchronized into webcasts accessible both live and on-demand from the AU website using Sonic Foundry’s patented Mediasite(R) web communications platform. Last year more than 200 presentations were captured and viewed by almost 20,000 registered users over 21,000 times.

“The entire recording process is designed to be invisible to both the presenters and participants. Speakers won’t need to alter their presentations or upload any software to their computers — just deliver their presentations as they normally would, using either PowerPoint or other high-resolution visual aids,” said Joseph Wurcher, manager, AU Program Development. “The advantage is the presentation will live on forever, and countless viewers will have the same quality experience as the individuals in the classroom.”

Sonic Foundry’s Event Services group consists of systems engineers and project managers with an extensive knowledge of audio/video production and webcasting. The group and its strategic partners supply technical webcasting services and expertise to organizations who seek to complement their conference or event with viewing over the web. Since its launch in January of this year, the Event Services group has provided live and on-demand webcasting for clients ranging from Fortune 500 corporations and university associations to sporting events and charitable organizations.
