Company Honors Organizations That Transform the Way They Work and Learn With Mediasite

Sonic Foundry will recognize 16 organizations across eight categories at a special awards dinner Monday, May 7 in Madison, Wisconsin during UNLEASH 2007, the company’s first Mediasite User Conference. Winners will be announced at that time.

Finalists successfully demonstrate how Mediasite transformed their organizations through measurable improvements in accessibility, cost savings, efficiency and productivity.

2007 Rich Media Impact Award Finalists

Enterprise Award

This award recognizes a company who improved its business outcomes through rich media communication. The 2007 finalists are ALLETE/Minnesota Power and Faegre & Benson.

Government Award

This award recognizes a local, state or federal government initiative that implemented rich media for training and outreach. The 2007 finalists are Association of Public Health Laboratories and United States Environmental Protection Agency.

Global Reach Award

This award recognizes any successful initiative that reached the international community through rich media. The 2007 finalists are Morehouse School of Medicine and St. George’s University.

Facility Design Award

This award recognizes a professional AV design or consulting firm that created innovative rich media rooms and facilities. The 2007 finalists are Wrightson, Johnson, Haddon & Williams for Saint Mary’s University — School of Law and University of Southern California.

Excellence in Distance Education Award

This award recognizes a higher education institution that transformed its distance education program with rich media. The 2007 finalists are California State University — San Marcos and Carnegie Mellon University.

Scholastic Achievement Award

This award recognizes a school district or other organization serving the K-12 educational community that harnessed the power of rich media to improve communication, learning and outreach. The 2007 finalists are Arizona State University (Professional Development Schools and Teacher Education Network of Excellence through Technology) and Pittsburgh Public Schools.

Healthcare Award

This award recognizes an organization that implemented rich media to benefit health and wellness. The 2007 finalists are Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center and Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center.

Rapid ROI Award

This award recognizes an organization that used rich media to quickly achieve a measurable ROI in its training, communications or outreach initiatives. The 2007 finalists are Michigan Public Health Institute and Northrop Grumman.
