Schneider Logistics and Schneider National Honor 32 Carriers at Annual Conference

New awards highlight quality service in Canada and Mexico

GREEN BAY, Wis. — September 26, 2007 — Schneider Logistics and Schneider National, Inc., premier providers of transportation, logistics and intermodal services, hosted their fifth annual Carrier Recognition Conference in Green Bay, Wis., on Sept. 11, 2007.  At the daylong event, 32 carriers were honored with awards for operational performance, exceptional service and ease of conducting business.

Schneider Logistics presented Carrier of the Year awards to 15 different service providers. Schneider Logistics’ Transportation Management division awarded the distinction to nine carriers. The Intermodal division of Schneider National recognized five other carriers with the award and also named CSX Intermodal of Jacksonville, Fla., as its Railroad Carrier of the Year.

Two new areas of distinction were added to this year’s ceremony in recognition of the increased freight volume being transported into both Canada and Mexico. Schneider presented awards to Caravan Logistics (Oakville, Ontario) and HG (El Milagro, CP) as Canadian Carrier of the Year and Mexican Carrier of the Year, respectively.

“The success of our customers is predicated on having a good relationship with carriers,” said Bill Miller, vice president, supply chain management at Schneider Logistics. “Rewarding our carriers for their continued dedication and excellent service is our way of demonstrating our appreciation for their efforts. They are true partners with us in meeting — and exceeding — customers’ needs.” Miller continued by thanking Doug Frank (director, logistics support services) and his team for orchestrating the event.

Approximately 200 people from across North America converged at historic Lambeau Field to attend the conference,  “Disaster Strikes: Foundation for a Road to Recovery.” General Russel L. Honoré, Commanding General, 1st Army, and leader of the recovery efforts following Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, presented lessons learned from his work in restoring the areas affected by the catastrophe.

In addition, a panel of transportation experts shared best practices in security and disaster recovery for carriers.

The conference also offered updates on other areas of the transportation industry as well as an economic update on market conditions from Schneider National’s corporate economist, Noel Perry.
