Regional Economic Development Entity to Launch New Identity, Regional Brand, Web site

(MADISON, Wis.) – The Regional Economic Development Entity (REDE) is launching a new identity, regional brand, regional marketing materials, Web site and an aggressive plan to strengthen the Madison Capital Region’s position on national and global fronts.

“We have tremendous economic resources in the capital region and we need to crow about them,” said Jennifer Alexander, president of the Regional Economic Development Entity. “Our name will change, but not our focus. We are organized and we’ll be intensifying our efforts – this is a very exciting time.”

“Global competition and preserving our quality of life are our two main objectives,” said Terri Potter, chair, REDE. “Those missions are completely compatible and an economic imperative in a knowledge-based economy.”

The announcement will come during the bi-annual Collaboration Council meeting on Tuesday, December 4, 2007 at the Monona Terrace. More than 160 people will be in attendance including representatives of the eight-county regional area: Columbia, Dane, Dodge, Green, Iowa, Jefferson, Rock and Sauk.
