PSC to Hold Public Hearings on Proposed Natural Gasline Projects

MADISON – The Public Service Commission of Wisconsin (PSC) will hold public hearings in De Pere and Fond du Lac on March 20th and 21st regarding applications from Wisconsin Public Service Corporation (WPSC), We Energies and Wisconsin Gas to build gas lines to connect their existing natural gas distribution systems to a proposed expansion of an interstate pipeline owned by Guardian Pipeline LLC (Guardian).


Guardian’s proposed expansion must be approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) before construction can begin.  If approved by FERC, WPSC, We Energies and Wisconsin Gas have asked for PSC authorization to build gas lines to attach to the pipeline expansion.  The proposed gas lines would run through the counties of Fond du Lac, Sheboygan, Calumet, Brown, Outagamie, Dodge and Washington.  Citizens are invited to provide testimony on the requests.


Public comments on the applications will be included in the record the Commission will review to make a decision regarding construction of the lateral pipelines.  The Commission has the authority to approve, deny or modify the applications.  Citizens are encouraged to attend one of the hearings, which are scheduled for:
