Physicians Plus Chooses HealthMedia to Provide Suite of Online Wellness and Disease Management Programs to Members

MADISON, Wis., Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ — Physicians Plus announces today that it has selected HealthMedia, Inc., the global leader in online delivery of behavior change interventions, to provide a comprehensive health and wellness and disease management campaign to its members.

The campaign includes HealthMedia(R) Succeed(TM), a health risk assessment (HRA), which is complemented by a suite of Lifestyle Management Programs that include HealthMedia(R) Balance(TM); a weight management and physical activity program, HealthMedia(R) Nourish(TM); a healthy eating program, HealthMedia(R) Breathe(TM); a smoking cessation program and HealthMedia(R) Relax(TM); a stress reduction program.

The campaign also includes HealthMedia’s full suite of Disease Management programs such as HealthMedia(R) Care(TM) for Your Back and HealthMedia(R) Care(TM) for Your Health, which supports individuals with chronic health conditions in areas like medication adherence and doctor-patient relationships. It also includes HealthMedia(R) Care(TM) for Diabetes, a program that treats the whole person with diabetes – making sure they know and understand their blood sugar levels and intervening around issues like obesity, guilt, depression and insomnia.

Robust Promotional Strategy

To drive participation into the programs, Physicians Plus designed and implemented an end-to-end communications and incentive strategy. Program communication includes brochures and printed and electronic newsletters for members. A promotional tool kit is also provided for employers to encourage their employees to take advantage of the programs. The kit includes brief articles employers can insert into their own employee newsletters, emails, intranet sites, posters, mouse pads and more.

Members who complete the initial HRA will receive a $25 reward and those who complete two lifestyle or condition management programs will receive an additional $75.

“Bringing this suite of tools and resources to our already innovative online offerings adds an exciting new dimension and helps Physicians Plus live our mission of improving the health of our members,” states Marcia Hladilek, Director of Health Improvement. “We’re very pleased to take a leadership role by being the first to bring such a robust program to south-central Wisconsin.”

Comments Ted Dacko, HealthMedia President and CEO, “We are thrilled that Physicians Plus has entrusted HealthMedia with their disease management and wellness initiatives. Adding our highly scalable online interventions to their current offering will provide quality and efficacious programming across the care continuum.”
