Northwestern Mutual Board Elects Dale Jones as New Trustee

MILWAUKEE, May 23 /PRNewswire/ — The board of trustees of Northwestern Mutual has elected Dale E. Jones to serve on the company’s board. Jones is a managing partner at Heidrick and Struggles, a leadership consulting and executive search firm. Jones had previously served on Northwestern Mutual’s Policyowners’ Examining Committee, an independent group appointed each year to take an impartial and unrestricted look at the company’s operations, management and strategic planning.

Serving as a managing partner at Heidrick and Struggles, Jones’ primary responsibility is overseeing the firm’s operations in the southeastern United States. He also is the head of the firm’s CEO and Board Practice in North and South America. Based in Atlanta, Ga., Jones provides executive search and leadership consulting services to Fortune 500 companies and their boards. He was recently elected by his peers to serve on Heidrick & Struggles’ 2006-2007 Global Partnership Council.


In addition to his seat on Northwestern Mutual’s Board of Trustees, Jones is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO) and the CEO Forum. He recently completed tenure as a board director for Hughes Supply, a $4.4 billion NYSE-traded company acquired last year by The Home Depot. Jones continues to serve on several non-profit boards, including the National Advisory Board of The Salvation Army, the Atlanta Resource Foundation and The Yale Center for Faith & Culture’s advisory board.


Jones earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Morehouse College and attended the Atlanta University Graduate School of Business.
