MILWAUKEE, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ — For the second time in three years, The National Association of Minority and Women-Owned Law Firms (NAMWOLF) has named Accenture (NYSE:ACN) its Annual Diversity Initiative Achievement Award winner.
NAMWOLF is a national trade association that advocates for increased use of minority- and women-owned law firms by major corporations and public entities throughout the United States.
The 2007 Annual Diversity Initiative Achievement Award is presented every year at NAMWOLF’s Annual Meeting and Law Firm Expo to recognize one of the organization’s outstanding corporate partners that is working to spend a minimum of five percent of its outside counsel budgets on women- and minority- owned law firms. Accenture has participated in the program since its inception three years ago and, in 2005, was NAMWOLF’s first award recipient.
“Our company is constantly looking for new ways to create an inclusive culture, which we believe strengthens Accenture’s ability to deliver innovative solutions to our clients,” said, Joel Stern, associate general counsel and director of the company’s legal services in the Americas. “By providing an efficient way to connect with a talented pool of minority- and women-owned law firms throughout the nation, NAMWOLF is a powerful tool to help us accelerate our journey.”
“Not only has Accenture done an outstanding job in hiring and forming long-lasting relationships with law firms owned and run by women and minorities, but the company has also been a powerful vocal advocate for our cause and those of other organizations, championing a more diverse Corporate America throughout the years,” said Yolanda Coly, managing director of NAMWOLF.
The NAMWOLF Annual Diversity Initiative Achievement Award will be presented to Accenture at the 2007 Annual Meeting and Law Firm Expo at the Millennium Broadway Hotel in New York on Tuesday, Nov. 6, and Wednesday, Nov. 7. To register by Oct. 26, visit www.namwolf.org or call 414-277-1139.
