Leinenkugel’s Apple Spice Returns to Meet Craft Beer Growth, Demand for Interesting Seasonal Brew

Leinie’s Apple Spice craft beer features hot and cold serving options

CHIPPEWA FALLS, Wis., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ — The Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company, is spicing up the fall season and upcoming holidays with the return of Leinenkugel’s Apple Spice. With the “pumpkin patch” becoming more and more crowded, Leinenkugel’s brings its own spicy fall option to the harvest. The seasonal brew will be hitting retailer shelves next week and be available through December 31.

Lightly hopped and well-balanced, Leinie’s brewmasters blend fresh apples and a hint of cinnamon spice to deliver a beer that is refreshingly drinkable cold or heated up and served warm. Leinenkugel’s Apple Spice will be available in 6-pack and 12-pack bottles and on draft at supermarkets, liquor stores and bars and restaurants where Leinenkugel’s is served.

“Leinenkugel’s entered exciting new territory with the launch of Apple Spice in 2005 and consumers responded,” said Dick Leinenkugel, vice president of the Jacob Leinenkugel Brewing Company and a fifth generation brewer. “Due to its unique combination of flavors, hot and cold serving options, and limited seasonal supply, Apple Spice is expected to be sought after for fall gatherings, holiday parties and other social occasions.”

Leinenkugel’s Apple Spice features over 2,000 lbs. of real apples per batch (one batch equivalent to 165 barrels). Other Apple Spice facts:

  — 50 lbs. of cinnamon used as a spice
— 60 lbs. of real Wisconsin honey
— Malted wheat in addition to malted barley

Leinenkugel’s year-round offerings include Original, Light, Honey Weiss, Berry Weiss, Leinie’s Red, Creamy Dark and Sunset Wheat. In addition, Leinenkugel’s offers four limited-release beers including Big Butt Doppelbock, Oktoberfest, Apple Spice and summertime refresher Summer Shandy.
