(Appleton, Wis.) August 13, 2007 — Jeffrey D. Lindsay, Ph.D., a leading researcher and expert in Intellectual Asset law and strategy, is joining the Innovationedge team. As Director of Solutions Development, Lindsay will work with inventors from all over the world to bring their new-to-the-world solutions to market including products, services and new business models. He will leverage his expertise to align the solutions and their intellectual assets to the strategic business goals of each inventor.

“I am very excited about Jeff joining the Innovationedge Team. Jeff will play a key role as leader of our Solutions Development Team,” says Cheryl Perkins, President and Founder of Innovationedge. “His background and experience will be invaluable as we work to expand our organization capability and broaden our market reach. With his diverse technology exposure and creativity, he will be able to talk the language of inventors and help them know what to consider when protecting their ideas, while enabling them to transform their vision of their innovative solutions into a reality.”

Lindsay began his career as an Associate Professor at the Institute of Paper Science and Technology on the Georgia Tech Campus, where he was named Teacher of the Year in 1993 and received several Best Paper awards for his research. He earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University, where he was a National Science Foundation Graduate Fellow. He currently chairs the BioProducts Division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, and has also chaired events for AIChE including RFID and smart packaging as well as serving as the Research Fellows Chair. In his most recent role as a Corporate Patent Strategist and Senior Research Fellow at Kimberly-Clark, Lindsay developed and advanced the concept of “Disruptive Intellectual Asset Strategy,” where intellectual assets are used to overcome normal barriers to disruptive innovation. This breakthrough concept has been well received at international conferences.
