Governor Visits Bassett Mechanical Contractors and Engineers in Kaukauna

NEW NORTH, November 19, 2007 – Governor Doyle on Monday visited Kaukauna-based Bassett Mechanical Contractors and Engineers, touting Wisconsin’s emerging renewable energy industry and the New North’s role in the industry’s development.

“As we look to grow the renewable energy industry in Wisconsin, partnerships with the New North and companies like Bassett Mechanical will play a large role in making Wisconsin a global leader in the development and implementation renewable technologies,” Governor Doyle said.

The wind energy industry is one of the targeted industries for the New North.  The region boasts a strong manufacturing industry, wind energy-specific college programs, and transportation infrastructure, and the State of Wisconsin has been ranked 4th among states for new job creation in the wind manufacturing industry, 6th for potential investment in the industry, and 18th in terms of overall wind energy potential.
