Governor Doyle Announces Funding for Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce

MADISON-Governor Jim Doyle today announced that the Hmong Wisconsin Chamber of Commerce (HWCC), Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, will receive $100,000 in financial assistance through the Minority Business Development Fund Program of the Department of Commerce (Commerce) to help capitalize a revolving loan fund.

“My administration is committed to promoting the development of minority businesses across the state,” Governor Doyle said. “This grant will help the Hmong Chamber of Commerce provide loans to further develop businesses and create jobs.”

HWCC was established in 2000 to help Hmong/Asian entrepreneurs start and grow their businesses. HWCC is a non-profit corporation. Since 2002, the organization has been working with the Commerce Bureau of Minority Business Development to secure seed for the revolving loan fund. The Commerce grant will leverage $200,000 in additional investments.
