MILWAUKEE, Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ — Grace Matthews, Inc. announced today that Waukesha, Wisconsin based Geo-Synthetics, Inc. has completed the sale of its GSI General Materials division to White Cap Construction Supply, Inc., part of Home Depot Supply, Inc., and a subsidiary of The Home Depot. Grace Matthews, a Milwaukee-based investment bank, advised Geo-Synthetics on the transaction. GSI General Materials is a chain of construction supply centers located in both North and South Carolina. Geo-Synthetics will retain its Waukesha-based liner and erosion control business.
“We were able to put together a transaction that separated the assets that were of interest to The Home Depot and preserved the Waukesha based business for Geo-Synthetic’s owners. It can be intimidating when you sell your company to a Fortune 20 Company but, together with the Geo Synthetic owners and Tom Myers of law firm Reinhart Boerner, we were able to conduct a fair and balanced sale process,” said Grace Matthews’ Managing Director Doug Mitman.
“Geo-Synthetics has distribution throughout the Carolinas, and they provide outlets where Home Depot Supply did not have coverage from its existing Hughes and White Cap Construction Supply centers. General Materials filled both geography and product holes for Home Depot Supply,” said Grace Matthews’ Vice President Tammie Miller.
Geo-Synthetics is a full-service distributor, fabricator and installer of geo-synthetics and erosion control materials. The Waukesha based company has serviced its customers nationwide since 1971.
