Geneva Convention and Boxoffice (R) Magazine Announce Distribution Award

HOLLYWOOD, Calif., Feb. 27 /PRNewswire/ — NATO of Wisconsin and Upper Michigan today announced that the prestigious Boxoffice (R) Magazine Blue Ribbon award for distribution will be presented to Chuck Viane, president of Buena Vista Pictures Distribution.

“We are very pleased to recognize Chuck Viane for the outstanding performance of Buena Vista Pictures at the box office in 2006,” said Bruce Olson, co-chair of the Great States Theatre Convention and president of Marcus Theatres Corporation. “Chuck has been a vital part of Buena Vista’s long string of hits over the last several years. With his roots in the Midwest, Chuck understands how important this part of the country is to the success of theatrical releases.”

“Boxoffice (R) Magazine and The Geneva Convention are proud to honor Chuck Viane and Buena Vista for an outstanding year,” said Peter Cane, publisher of Boxoffice (R) Magazine. “The company struck box office gold with the number one movie of the year, Pirates of the Caribbean-Dead Man’s Chest. BV also showed their magic touch with Cars, Chronicles of Narnia, DejaVu, Glory Road and others. We believe Buena Vista’s hot streak will continue in 2007 with Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End, Ratatouille, Underdog, Enchanted and National Treasure 2.”

Chuck Viane will be honored on May 9th at the Boxoffice (R) Awards ceremony at the Geneva Convention, one of the exhibition industry’s largest conventions. Other honorees for achievement in exhibition, distribution, technology and production will be announced in the coming weeks.
