Doing Business Globally 2007 Seminar in Eau Claire May 17, 2007

MADISON – Businesses thinking about expanding into foreign markets will want to attend the “Doing Business Globally 2007” seminar being held on May 17 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Holiday Inn Campus Hotel in Eau Claire. Department of Commerce (Commerce) international market representatives from Brazil, Canada, China, Europe, Japan and Mexico will be in attendance to brief attendees on the best market opportunities, current market conditions, and services available to Wisconsin companies.

“I encourage companies that are interested in taking the next step to increase exports in overseas markets to attend,” says Commerce Secretary Mary P. Burke. “Commerce’s international office directors come to Wisconsin once a year and this is a great opportunity to get their collective global perspectives.”

Sponsored by Commerce’s International Division and the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire Continuing Education/Small Business Development Center (CESBDC), the program will begin with John Krahling, from Liquid Waste Technology, Somerset, discussing the expansion of its business into the global marketplace, challenges encountered, and the ongoing rewards of exporting products internationally. Each foreign director will give presentations about the best markets for Wisconsin products and how they can assist in your export sales.

Commerce’s International Division and foreign offices can assist companies with identifying the best sales agents and distributors, connecting with services providers, international bankers, attorneys, freight forwarders, as well as help with identifying the best markets worldwide for their products.

Attendees may schedule one-on-one appointments with Commerce international directors to introduce their companies and products.

Early bird registration is $75, if received before May 11 ($99 after that date). To register or request one-on-one appointments with any foreign director, contact Jim Mishefske at the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire CESBDC at 715-836-5811.
