CG Schmidt: MCD, Inc. is winner of Capital Region Ovation Award for Corporate Support

(MADISON, WI) – CG Schmidt, a leading construction management firm in Wisconsin, has announced that MCD, Inc., of Madison, is the 2007 winner of the CG Schmidt Capital Region Ovation Award for Corporate Support, which is given to small and medium sized firms that make our communities better places. The award was presented as part of Forward Community Investment’s Investor Breakfast, held at Nakoma Golf Club.

MCD was nominated by YWCA Madison for their generous donation of products and services, and for the true partnership the two created. MCD provides mentorship and internship opportunities through a new training program at the YWCA that prepares women and minorities to work in the printing and manufacturing industry.

The CG Schmidt Foundation donated $2,500 to YWCA Madison on behalf of MCD. Joan McNulty, President, and Dave Boyer, CEO of MCD accepted the award on behalf of the company. Representatives from YWCA Madison were also present to accept the contribution.

Insty Prints on Park Street, Madison, received honorable mention for their support of Interfaith Hospitality Network, which comes in the form of printing services and marketing committee involvement. The CG Schmidt Foundation donated $1,000 to Interfaith Hospitality Network on behalf of Insty Prints. Representatives from Insty Prints and IHN were also in attendance.

The Ovation Award is designed to inspire giving by small and medium sized businesses that give back to the community with all the enthusiasm of larger companies, Oelerich said. He added that the award is also designed to increase awareness of non-profit groups in the Madison area.

The award committee considered entries from throughout the Capital Region, which includes Adams, Columbia, Crawford, Dane, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Grant, Green, Green Lake, Monroe, Iowa, Jefferson, Juneau, Lafayette, Marquette, Richland, Rock, Sauk and Vernon counties.
