Baird expands mid-Atlantic presence

International Financial Services Firm Opens Second Greater Washington, D.C., Area Office

MILWAUKEE, July 26, 2007 – Baird, an international employee-owned financial services firm and one of the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work for®, has opened its second greater Washington, D.C., area office in Reston, Va. The new office, located in the Reston Town Center, 11951 Freedom Drive, Suite 1400, will initially house a Private Wealth Management Financial Advisor team and a Fixed Income Institutional Sales group.

The office will complement the investment banking and research services offered by Baird’s office in McLean, Va., which opened in 2004. The two offices will expand Baird’s presence in the area to more than 40 associates.

“Our second office in the greater Washington, D.C., area further solidifies Baird’s presence in the Mid-Atlantic region,” said Paul Purcell, Baird Chairman, President & CEO. “This strategic expansion brings Baird’s broad array of services closer to current and prospective clients, and to talented professionals interested in joining Baird.”

“The Mid-Atlantic region represents tremendous opportunity for us, and we are thrilled to welcome this seasoned Financial Advisor team to Baird,” said Mike Schroeder, Director of Private Wealth Management. “The team has earned the loyalty and trust of their clients by providing straightforward financial advice and exceptional service. Their business model is very compatible with Baird’s client-focused culture.”

Members of the team, including Financial Advisors (some of whom are Certified Financial Planner™ professionals), Analysts and Client Relationship Specialists, specialize in investment management, financial planning and client service. The team provides investment management services for individuals, employee retirement plans and endowments.

“We built our practice on the principle that we want to put our clients’ interests first,” said Randy Beeman, Senior Vice President, Financial Advisor and co-founder of the team. “Our high-net-worth clients are looking for sophisticated investment alternatives and have higher demands in terms of service. Joining Baird allows us to offer them a platform of enhanced products and services that we couldn’t before.”

Beeman and other team members host a syndicated radio program, the Wise Investor Show, that airs Sunday morning in Washington, D.C., San Diego, Las Vegas and Charlotte, N.C.
