Badger Meter leader Richard A. Meeusen to speak at spring 2007 commencement

WHITEWATER ­ More than 1,400 students will be addressed by alumnus Richard
A. Meeusen at the May 2007 commencement ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 19
in the DLK/Kachel Fieldhouse.

Meeusen ¹76, received a bachelor¹s degree from the University of
Wisconsin-Whitewater. He is the CEO, president and chairman of Badger Meter,
Inc., one of the world¹s leading water-meter manufacturers, and the only one
in the nation independently American-owned.

In addition to his career, Meeusen serves on the boards of Goodwill
Industries of Southeastern Wisconsin, Inc., the Milwaukee County Council Boy
Scouts of America, the Milwaukee Repertory Theater and the Milwaukee YMCA,
where he volunteers his time.

Sara Mertz of Hilbert, will be the student speaker. She will graduate summa
cum laude with a degree in finance and accounting from the college of
business and economics.

Receiving degrees on May 19 will be a total of 1,418 undergraduates ­ 200 in
arts and communication; 421 in business and economics; 227 in education; and
393 in letters and sciences. A total of 177 master¹s degree candidates will
also be recognized.
