2007 Downtown Madison, Inc. Annual Dinner with Texas State Senator Kirk Watson

Madison, Wisconsin…Over the course of time, central cities have continuously evolved and changed.  It has taken much effort, attention and vision to achieve what we see today.  In order to maintain a strong and vibrant downtown, we must continue to anticipate the needs and trends of our downtown stakeholders.

On Wednesday, November 7th, Downtown Madison Inc. (DMI) will welcome Texas State Senator and former Mayor of Austin, Texas, Kirk Watson to speak at the DMI Annual Dinner.  Senator Watson is vice-chair of the Senate Committee on Transportation and Homeland Security, and serves on the Senate committees for Jurisprudence, Nominations, Business and Commerce, and the Subcommittee on Emerging Technologies and Economic Development.   He also serves as Chair of the Capital Area Metropolitan Planning Organization, the region’s primary transportation planning agency.

During Senator Watson’s key-note speech, he will be identifying what it takes to build a healthy downtown in this millennium.  His experience and expertise in transportation, economic development, public safety and quality of life will help us frame the vision for the future of downtown Madison.

The DMI Annual Dinner is taking place on Wednesday, November 7th from 5:30-9pm at the Monona Terrace Community and Convention Center, One John Nolen Dr.  The event is open to the public and tickets are available for purchase at www.downtownmadison.org or by calling (608) 443-1972.
