Wisconsin Dells Welcomes New Waterpark

The new park features an amazing 1,600 foot-long interactive adventure river system, named the Lost World River Adventure. It takes guests on a journey unlike any other transporting them back in time to the age of dinosaurs. Guests will travel back in time to the age of dinosaurs. Guests will travel through fast rapids, uphill currents down twisting slides, under bridges and through swirls and runoffs.

There will also be a huge pool with lounging ridge to relax in, dinosaur-themed basketball hoops for the kids to enjoy and a kiddy play-n-spray structure for the little ones to splash around in, complete with Stegosaurus and Pteranodon sculptures.

According to Joe Eck, sales and marketing director for the resort, “Our newest outdoor waterpark couldn’t be opening at a better time as school is letting out and families are ready to explore the latest and greatest in waterparks for the summer. We are sure that our guests will love the Lost World Waterpark with its dinosaur theme. The interactive adventure river system is certain to entertain families for hours.”

The Lost World is located in front of the new Glacier Canyon Lodge and Banquet Center.

Phase III of the project, Glacier Canyon Lodge, an upscale 224-unit condominium resort, is also set to open July 1, 2006. The new lodge, located on the southern edge of the resort’s property, has 23 of its 224 2- and 3-bedroom fully-furnished units remaining for sale. Units are ranging in price from $349,900-$400,000. Its adjoining 25,000 square-foot banquet and conference center will open in October.

Phase IV of the $150 million expansion, the creation of a new championship golf course by world-renowned course designers Hurdzan Fry, is set to be complete in time for summer 2007.

According to Dr. Mike Hurdzan, “The new Glacier Canyon Golf Club course is guaranteed to be one of the top 5 courses in the state when completed. It will not only fulfill the challenging and strategic expectations of the individual golfer, but also blend in with the natural assets of the land, which was once a quarry, to create a truly memorable experience.”

As a result of the construction of Glacier Canyon Golf Club, 9 holes of the current Wilderness golf course, Wilderness Woods, are already closed. The resort anticipates keeping the other 9 holes open for most of the 2006 golf season. The resort has also established golf packages with other area courses for summer 2006.

When Wilderness Hotel & Golf Resort opened in 1995, it featured 75 rooms and one indoor waterpark. Today, it has over seven football fields of indoor and outdoor waterparks.

It is the only hotel in the region with three separate indoor waterparks and two outdoor waterparks. Other family attractions include a 30,000-square-foot, four-story, dry foam play park called Timberland Play House, a mega arcade and rock climbing wall.

In addition, the resort now has 443 wilderness themed guest rooms to choose from, as well as a variety of other upscale lodging options including 40 two-bedroom villas, 76 three-four-bedroom condos, 19 four-five-bedroom deluxe cabins and 16 three-bedroom cabins. In 2003, the resort also opened Wilderness on the Lake, an upscale 108-unit two-three bedroom condominium resort overlooking beautiful Lake Delton.
