A 1974 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point alumna, Deborah Anstett, has recently been named director of development for the UWSP Foundation. Anstett has been interim director of annual giving for the foundation the past three years.

“I look forward to working with the leadership at UWSP,” said Anstett. “It will be rewarding to work with alumni and volunteers to enhance our development and fundraising programs across the campus.”

According to Anstett her major responsibilities will include the annual giving program, donor recognition and stewardship, and major gifts. She will report to the UWSP Foundation Executive Director Todd Kuckkahn.

“Deb has been and will continue to be an excellent asset to this campus and community,” said Kuckkahn. “Our foundation has ambitious goals in the coming years and her talents will be critical as we strive to grow foundation assets.”

Prior to joining the foundation staff three years ago, Anstett was the director of development for the UWSP College of Professional Studies. During the 1990s she managed her own financial planning practice in Stevens Point. This is Anstett’s second stint at UWSP as she was director of UWSP’s Educational Support Programs from 1985-89.

Anstett has been a community leader volunteering her time for a wide variety of groups including past president of ZONTA International Women’s Organization, past president for the Central Wisconsin Symphony Orchestra Board, board member for the Stevens Point Area Catholic Schools, past president of the Stevens Point Chapter of Business and Professional Women, and the Portage County Board of Supervisors.

She earned a master’s degree from UW-Madison. Anstett resides in Plover with her husband, David Dekker, and daughter, Kathryn.
