UW-Madison: Statement From Chancellor John D. Wiley On The Wisconsin Institutes For Discovery

MADISON – University of Wisconsin-Madison Chancellor John D. Wiley issued the following statement April 19 after the State Building Commission approved the Wisconsin Institutes for Discovery project:

“We’re grateful that Gov. Doyle and commission members share our vision of promoting collaborative research and strengthening a knowledge-based Wisconsin economy. The decision to go ahead with the project will give Wisconsin a world-class research facility designed to bring researchers from various fields together to find scientific answers to some of the world’s most difficult problems.

“The gifts from the Morgridges and the Wisconsin Alumni Research Foundation, and the wise investment by state government in this project will pay dividends for generations to come – in life-changing discoveries, a stronger economy and an even better university.”
