Tina Kelly-Beckett Named Executive Director of Milwaukee UEP

Milwaukee, WI – November 9, 2006 – The Metropolitan Business Collaborative, the organization hosting Milwaukee’s recently launched Urban Entrepreneur Partnership (UEP), announced today that Tina Kelly-Beckett will serve as the Executive Director.  She will oversee outreach, networking and development for the UEP which will operate out of the Milwaukee Urban League’s offices.


 


Kelly-Beckett has been a fixture in Milwaukee’s business community over the decade.  She was most recently Manager of Supplier Diversity & Procurement Contracts with the Miller Brewing Co., where she had a lengthy career.  Kelly-Beckett managed the brewery’s network of minority-owned suppliers and developed a personal network of many of Milwaukee’s home-grown entrepreneurs.


 


“Tina brings a wealth of business experience and entrepreneurial success to the Urban Entrepreneur Partnership.  Her 26 years of corporate experience will be a terrific asset as the Milwaukee Urban Entrepreneur Partnership begins to foster minority business ownership in,” said Don Graves, Chairman of the Metropolitan Business Collaborative.


 


Kelly-Beckett holds a Masters in Business Administration from Cardinal Stritch University (Milwaukee, WI) and a Bachelor of Science in Biology from North Carolina A&T State University (Greensboro, NC), one of the nation’s historically black colleges.


 


“At Miller, I worked with Milwaukee’s minority businesses as a customer and a partner, now I will work with these and other organizations in a new capacity as I seek to build the UEP and speed the growth and development of minority businesses,” said Kelly-Beckett.
