MEQUON, Wis., (March 2, 2006) – Swimtasticâ Swim School, a unique program offering professional swim lessons to children, is breaking ground on Monday, March 13 for a brand new 6,000 square foot swimming facility in Mequon, Wis. Swimtastic signed a franchise agreement with Scott and Cindy Salentine, owners of Discere Docendo, Inc., (Latin for “to learn through teaching”) to open the school for the summer semester beginning in July 2006 at Mequon Business Park, 10636 N. Commerce Dr., 72 W.

“We’ve been looking at business opportunities for a few years and thought for a first-time entrepreneur, Swimtastic would be a good business to start,” said Cindy Salentine, president of the new Mequon school. “Our young son has been taking classes in Franklin for the last year and we’ve seen firsthand what a difference Swimtastic has made to his confidence, self-esteem and love of the water. We wanted to give other families this same opportunity in a growing area such as Mequon.”

The Salentine’s are so confident in their new business venture that they are planning to open a second franchise location in Madison in 2007.

With four Swimtastic locations currently open in Wisconsin and Nebraska, Mequon is the fifth location to open in the last eight years and the first franchise in the North Shore area. The Mequon Swimtastic model will include a new color scheme, an underwater mural and an aquarium all encompassed into a larger layout. Plans to expand to 25 franchises by the end of 2007 are part of Swimtastic’s long-term business plan including locations in Illinois, Ohio and Michigan.

Swimtastic offers extra incentives for those who register for swim lessons prior to the opening of the school, including a free family swim pass, a discounted birthday party and entry into their “Pool of Prizes” contest. Classes fill up quickly so families are encouraged to register beginning Monday, March 27, and become a Swimtastic Charter Member by calling 262-512-SWIM (7946).

Learning to swim at Swimtastic Swim School is different from other recreation swim programs. Swimtastic offers a number of perks including a comfortable environment with pool water as warm as 90 degrees Fahrenheit and a fun palm tree shower and water slide to help kids

relax and have fun. Small class sizes allow for more swim time and a highly trained professional swim staff gives students the personal attention they deserve. In addition, an innovative curriculum allows children to relate to Swimtastic’s weekly themes that combine games, stories and a lovable character named Mr. Bubbles to make learning to swim fun. All of these perks are part of Swimtastic’s formula for fun.

From its humble beginnings in 1996 in the backyard pool of Founder and CEO Susan Wainscott’s home, Swimtastic Swim Schools are built on a love of children and a respect for the water. At each location, a team of professionally trained swim teachers offers personal attention to ensure students complete each swim lesson with confidence in a fun and safe swimming environment.

“We’ve seen thousands of students successfully complete the program and overcome their fear of the water,” said Wainscott. “Thanks to franchise owners like Scott and Cindy Salentine, we can bring good quality swim lessons to families across the country.”
