State Biotech Association Will Hold Annual Meeting Monday


Event to include forums on venture funding, pharmaceutical collaborations


MADISON, Wis., Nov. 29, 2006—The Wisconsin Biotechnology & Medical Device Association, the voice of the state’s growing bioscience industry, today announced plans for its annual meeting and celebration being held on Monday, Dec. 4 on the Promega Corp. campus in Fitchburg, Wis.


In addition to conducting its annual business meeting, the association is sponsoring two special forums under the theme “The Cornerstones of Continued Growth: Securing Capital and Collaborations in 2007 and Beyond.” The forums will be led by leading venture capitalists and pharmaceutical company executives. A schedule of the afternoon’s events and a list of forum leaders is included below.


“Wisconsin’s bioscience industry has a lot to be proud of as we reflect on the accomplishments in 2006,” said James L. Leonhart, executive vice president of the association. “We look forward to continuing our leadership of the statewide dialogue about how to make the bioscience industry even stronger at our annual meeting, and during 2007 and beyond.”


Both association members and non-members are welcome to attend the afternoon’s events. There is a $35 registration fee for the event, which concludes with a gala reception featuring keyboard artist Leotha Stanley.
