PalletCtlTM maximizes transportation capacity and optimally builds loads to increase cube utilization and lower freight costs
Milwaukee, WI – RedPrairie Corporation, a global leader in supply chain technology solutions that enable business process transformation, announced today that it is partnering with ORTEC, a leading provider of advanced planning and scheduling software, to offer PalletCtl™ for pallet and trailer-load building. The solution optimizes the positioning of products onto a trailer. Customers benefit from increased cube utilization on trailers, decreased damage during shipping and lower freight costs.
ORTEC has already implemented the solution at more than 50 companies in a wide range of industries throughout the world. It will now also be an integrated part of the RedPrairie extended Supply Chain Execution (eSCETM) suite of products providing seamless logistics performance.
PalletCtl supports the physical processes involved in loading goods into containers, trucks, railcars and airfreight containers by building pallets and trailers based on carrier or item characteristics and customer requirements. The software creates detailed, graphical loading instructions, which allow for optimal utilization of various types of shipping containers. The solution uses sophisticated logic that can be used with many types of items and varying shipping characteristics.
