RedPrairie: Announces Major Transportation Management Upgrade on Heels of TMS Momentum

Global Trade Management and Fleet Management capabilities added, plus new lightweight software client

Milwaukee, WI – RedPrairie Corporation, the world’s leading supply chain solution provider, today announced a next generation Transportation Management Solution on the heels of tremendous success in the Transportation arena. RedPrairie has added 21 new TMS customers since January 2005, and expects to triple TMS license revenues from 2005 to 2006. The new DLx Transportation solution introduces a lightweight, enterprise-wide distributable software client that allows for significantly improved user productivity for transportation planners involved in the planning, optimization and execution of product shipment delivery. The new Global Trade Management option provides improved international trade logistics capabilities; and the Fleet Management option optimizes street routing for managing fleet-based same day delivery service.

The new RedPrairie TMS release enables shippers to completely model and control management of contracted carrier and fleet resources; providing unprecedented capability to easily structure carrier rates, manage carrier contract commitments, plan to available capacity, and electronically tender and monitor carrier performance and shipment delivery through a rich performance metrics scorecard.

The solution provides a lightweight, internet deployable client that provides a zero-administration footprint for simplified IT management, and enables an intuitive “drag and drop” shipment management interface for increased user productivity. The software can be provided through a traditional licensing model or can be provided as an on-demand ASP-hosted solution to lower upfront purchase cost.

DLx® Transportation provides options for enabling global trade management with a large set of international trade logistics capabilities, including denied party screening, customs/duty management, shipping export paperwork creation, trade preferential agreements and international small package shipment management. The system also has an extensive set of capabilities for managing fleet-based same day delivery. The Fleet Management option uses state of the art genetic algorithms for determining the best local street routing by either dynamically re-planning driver zones for optimal cost of delivery or optimizing within established driver zones for optimal service.

Companies who have recently purchased or implemented RedPrairie TMS include Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG), Bear Creek, Bon-Ton Department Stores, CoLinx, Fresh Mark, Johns Manville, Pittsburgh Logistics Services, RR Donnelley and Tubular Steel. AWG is currently implementing the new TMS 2006.1 release.

According to TMS VP of Product Marketing, Erv Bluemner, “the new TMS solution capabilities move RedPrairie into the forefront of full-featured transportation delivery solutions addressing both global and domestic delivery needs. With the new state-of-the-art graphical user interface and lightweight client; and the inclusion of Global Trade Management and Fleet Management, RedPrairie has leap-frogged the competition in bringing the widest TMS product footprint to the marketplace. The solution can be deployed across the largest global shippers as well as easily serving the needs of smaller mid-tier corporations at an effective price point.”
