Quarles & Brady LLP: Partner James Friedman Selected as a 2006 Leader in the Law

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The national law firm of Quarles & Brady LLP today announced that James D. Friedman, a partner with the Firm, has been selected as a 2006 Leader in the Law by the Wisconsin Law Journal. He is one of 11 attorneys from throughout Wisconsin to be recognized, and Friedman will be honored at the Leaders in the Law Awards dinner on March 29.

According to the Wisconsin Law Journal, this award recognizes individuals for their contribution to the practice of law, including leadership in advancing legal services to the poor, important contributions to Wisconsin’s legal community and important contributions to the community at large.

Friedman serves as Chair of the Firm’s Regulated Business Practice Section and the Financial Institutions Practice Group. He has experience representing financial institutions and their holding companies, manufacturers, service businesses, health care providers and others.

Friedman is recognized in The Best Lawyers in America, Who’s Who in American Law, Who’s Who in the Midwest, Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in the World and Who’s Who in Finance and Business. He is also a Life Fellow of the Wisconsin Law Foundation and a Life Fellow of the American Bar Foundation. Friedman is a member and vice chair of the Preliminary Review Committee for the Wisconsin Supreme Court Office of Lawyer Regulation, Director of Partners Advancing Values in Education and president of the Weyenberg Public Library Foundation, Inc. He also serves as a Director for Concours Motors, Inc.

Friedman earned his bachelor’s degree from Marquette University and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is a resident of Mequon.
