SEPT. 7, 2006—WOODVILLE, WIS.—OEM Fabricators, Inc., a Woodville, Wis. fabricating, machining, welding and finishing company, will break ground on its Neillsville, Wis. facility Thursday, Sept. 14.

The groundbreaking ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. at the new facility’s future home, located within the Neillsville Industrial Park at the east end of Industrial Drive, just off Tiff Avenue and U.S. Highway 10.

“We are very pleased to be making this start for our new plant, which will be an expansion of our current operations,” said S. Mark Tyler, OEM’s president. “We are excited about this new facility and the opportunities it provides for both OEM and the community of Neillsville.”

The facility will sit on eight acres and encompass some 54,000 square feet. It is expected to begin operation in early 2007 and will be used to build major components for original equipment manufacturers. Processes that will be performed also include fabricating, welding, machining, finishing and assembly. Support functions such as quality, engineering, purchasing, human resources and customer service will be done in Neillsville as well.

The project represents an initial investment of nearly $9 million for construction, equipment, working capital and team member training. OEM has worked with the Wisconsin Department of Commerce, Wisconsin Business Development Finance Corporation, West Central Wisconsin Regional Planning Commission, Clark County, and the city of Neillsville as well as other public and private organizations to facilitate the new facility’s construction.

“We look forward to being as involved in the Neillsville area as we are in Woodville and throughout central St. Croix County,” said Tyler. “We anticipate being able to have as many as 200 team members working in this facility.” Staff recruiting will be conducted through the Clark County Job Center in Neillsville.

Neillsville Mayor Diane L. Murphy and Lt. Gov. Barbara Lawton along with Tyler and co-owner James B. Hauschild, as well as other invited guests will wield the first shovels.
