Northwest Side CDC: Announces Election of New Officers and Board Members

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – The Northwest Side Community Development Corporation today announced the election of its officers. Officers include: President, Ely Leichtling, Partner at Quarles and Brady LLP; Vice President, Anna Woods, Human Resources Manager at Rock-Tenn Corporation; Treasurer, Rita Cheng, Provost and Vice Chancellor for the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee; Secretary, John Stewart, CEO and President of Food Services Inc. and James Gramling Jr, immediate past President and Milwaukee Municipal Court Judge.

In addition, Steven D. Brown, Human Resources Manager for GE Healthcare; Fred Jones, owner of International House of Pancakes at the Midtown Center; and Leticia Smith, retired Milwaukee Municipal Courts and former President of the Board of the Milwaukee Non-Profit Center are new board members for the organization.

Other members re-elected for new terms include: Al Hill, Jr., Milwaukee Center for Independence; Tom Ryan, JONCO Industries; Alan Perlstein, DRS Power and Controls Technologies; Farshad Maltes, Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority; Alicia Modjeska, St. Michael’s Hospital; Gary Mohn, Alexian Village; and Welford Sanders, Martin Luther King, Jr. Economic Development Corporation.

Northwest Side CDC is one of the nation’s oldest, and most successful community development corporations. The CDC has been in existence since 1983 and serves small and large businesses, and community residents, in business growth strategies, real estate, job training and development.
