New Venture, hamilton.gsp, to Launch in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis., Nov. 15 /PRNewswire/ — The Hamilton Consulting Group, one of Wisconsin’s premier government relations firms, and GSP Consulting, a national leader in government and economic development consulting, today announced the formation of a new venture to meet the growing needs of the bioscience, information technology and manufacturing industries in Wisconsin.

The new venture, hamilton.gsp, will provide a range of services to its clients that identify and maximize public sector funding opportunities for them. hamilton.gsp brings together Hamilton Consulting’s strategic expertise and legislative success in Wisconsin with GSP Consulting’s track record of securing more than $400 million in government funding for bioscience and advanced manufacturing companies, non-profits, economic development organizations, and universities.

“hamilton.gsp is a welcome addition to the efforts to expand Wisconsin’s innovation economy,” said Mark D. Bugher, director of the University Research Park. “Its strategy to accelerate the formation and growth of new companies by leveraging private funding with public sector funding resources should pay dividends for emerging companies here.”

In addition to its public-sector funding services, the new venture will also craft and advocate for technology-related public policy and assist in the development of groundbreaking economic development initiatives on behalf of its clients.

“GSP has made a measurable impact on the local bioscience community by helping to bridge the gaps between our technology executives and our government leaders,” said Baiju Shah, president of Cleveland’s BioEnterprise Corp. “They have become a valuable and integral part of the economic development strategy for Cleveland and I am confident they will do the same for Wisconsin.”

“hamilton.gsp understands that Wisconsin’s emerging industries and its base of mature manufacturing companies are connected and complementary,” said James S. Haney, president of Wisconsin Manufacturers and Commerce. “Their commitment to supporting both is critical to the continued development of the state’s economy.”

GSP Consulting maintains 10 offices in six states and represents more than 100 companies across the country. It made its decision to form its partnership with Hamilton Consulting after 12 months of national market research and due diligence on 30 metropolitan areas.

“Wisconsin is one of the most robust and fastest-growing technology hotbeds in the country, but emerging companies here haven’t secured the level of government funding that their counterparts in other states have,” said John Dick, principal and co-founder of GSP. “GSP believes that our experience and track record can have a major impact on efforts to secure public sector funding for Wisconsin enterprises. We are very pleased to form hamilton.gsp with Hamilton Consulting, which stands out as the most effective and progressive firm of its kind in the state.”

The Hamilton Consulting Group is one of Wisconsin’s largest and most experienced lobbying firms. It represents more than 30 organizations, many of which are in the technology, manufacturing and economic development sectors.

“We have created a powerful team through the formation of hamilton.gsp that can make a difference not only for our clients, but in the continued development of Wisconsin’s economy,” said Robert Fassbender, managing partner of the Hamilton Consulting Group. “GSP has an unmatched record of securing federal dollars for technology-related companies and we are excited to be partnering with them on this important new venture.”
