MILWAUKEE MILE AND BRIGGS & STRATTON TEAM UP

Milwaukee, Wis. (December 21, 2006) –  Two Milwaukee institutions, The Milwaukee Mile and Briggs & Stratton, have once again teamed up as corporate partners for the upcoming 2007 racing season at the historic speedway.

The Milwaukee Mile held it’s first auto race in 1903 – over a century ago – making it the world’s oldest active motor speedway.  Briggs & Stratton Racing makes more racing engines than any other company in the world, with its corporate headquarters located in Milwaukee since the company was formed over 90 years ago.

“This partnership will further strengthen our Briggs & Stratton brand right here in Milwaukee and to a national audience with the visibility this opportunity provides,” commented David Klaus, Briggs & Stratton Racing Manager.

Briggs & Stratton is the world’s largest producer of air cooled gasoline engines for outdoor power equipment. Briggs & Stratton designs, manufactures, markets and services these products for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) worldwide.

In addition, Briggs & Stratton Racing manufactures a complete line of racing engines for Karts, Quarter Midgets, Junior Dragsters, Bandolero cars and more.  Every engine is hand-built by a dedicated team right here in Wauwatosa, Wisconsin

“We believe this is a natural fit with the goals of Briggs & Stratton Racing, and we are proud to continue our association with one of the most trusted and visible brands in America,” stated Aaron Hart, Milwaukee Mile Vice President – Sales.

This is a renewal of a marketing partnership.  The highly-visible Briggs & Stratton billboard along the backstretch of America’s Legendary Oval garnered over $330,000 in exposure during the various nationally televised auto racing events (source: Joyce Jullius & Assoc., Inc Sponsors Report, 2006).  This coming season, Briggs & Stratton will be among the growing number of partners who will benefit from all of The Milwaukee Mile major race events being televised live to a national audience.

Milwaukee Mile race tickets, public address announcements and other enhancements are also involved.  Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.
