J. Harris Associates: John Golitz Land Group Formed to Assemble and Entitle Land Sites for Residential Development



LAKE GENEVA, WIS. (May 29, 2006) — John Golitz, 47, principal, has announced the formation of a new commercial real estate company, John Golitz Land Group LLC. The new venture assembles and markets land parcels for real estate investors, developers and builders with a special focus on sites for residential development. Major projects include two development sites in Elkhorn and Paddock Lake, Wis.


The 850-acre Elkhorn property consists of vacant land located at the intersection of Highway 12 and Interstate 43 in Walworth County north of Lake Geneva. The land plan for the master planned community includes a mix of residential and retail development.


The 40-acre Paddock Lake property is located near Highway 50 between Lake Geneva and Interstate 94. All governmental approvals have been completed and the site has received “final plat” approval for development in the Village of Paddock Lake.


John Golitz Land Group’s capabilities include the strategic identification of sites suitable for development; direct negotiation with landowners and completion of all due diligence and governmental approvals required before a site can be developed.


A veteran of the commercial real estate industry, Golitz has more than 20 years of experience and has completed more than $135 million in commercial real estate transactions in metropolitan Chicago and southeastern Wisconsin. In the Chicago market, Golitz developed and managed a group of family entertainment facilities and previously was a leading land and industrial broker for Grubb & Ellis and Rubloff Inc. Most recently, Golitz specialized in land brokerage for Bear Realty and Keefe Real Estate Inc., where he was a vice president. He has completed transactions with the some of the Wisconsin-Illinois area’s largest builders and developers.
