(Mequon, WI – June 5, 2006) 2006 marks Great Lakes Media Technology’s tenth year in business. The company was started in 1996 by owners Brian Axtman and Guy Rehorst, and served the duplication needs of the corporate community. Axtman and Rehorst had left their previous employer with interest in moving into a realm their employer wouldn’t — CD manufacturing. >From their Mequon office space, the company soon expanded into CD replication, becoming the exclusive company in the state of Wisconsin to manufacture optical media, a status that still exists today. The company headquarters now reside within their own 30,000 square foot facility, with 60 employees internally and in Illinois.

Axtman, now the company president and CEO, has lead the company to manufacture additional media formats, including DVD, a format that offers original VHS customers a world of expanded options and high quality video. Along with services such as video encoding, authoring, streaming video, and web-based media, Great Lakes Media Technology has grown to provide complete solutions to any individual, company, or educational institution interested in using DVD, CD, or web-based media for communicating. Since its inception, the company has received numerous awards for growth and innovation, including the Inc. 500 (2 years in a row), Fortune 50 (3 years in a row), TKO, and others.

A Philips and DVD6C licensed, ISO9000 compliant facility, Great Lakes Media Technology is proud of all the digital stories it has helped create. Says Axtman, “It’s amazing to realize all the stories we’ve helped people tell over the years. I’m extremely grateful for the customers we’ve been able to share these experiences with. Without them, these ten years would have been impossible. Our focus will continue to be on providing quality service with media that fulfills the needs and interests of anyone looking to share their story with the world.”
