Milwaukee, Wisconsin (June 12, 2006). Godfrey & Kahn, S.C. is pleased to announce that Arthur J. Harrington, a shareholder and co-chair of the firm’s Environmental and Energy Law Practice Group, is the author of Environmental Liability and the Emerging Art Form of Transference, a resource for those involved in real estate redevelopment. Published by Aspatore Books and recently released, the book is a comprehensive guide to transferring financial risk to insurance companies and remediation firms when buying and selling contaminated property.

Harrington has more than 25 years of experience in environmental law and more than 10 years of experience in energy law. He has extensive litigation experience in these practice areas and serves as a mediator in environmental disputes. In addition, he co-authored A Wisconsin Brownfields Primer, published by the University of Wisconsin Law School, and has been appointed by the Secretary of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources to numerous task forces including the Brownfield Advisory Task Force for the State of Wisconsin.

Harrington has repeatedly been named the top environmental lawyer in Milwaukee by his peers, received the Wisconsin Law Journal’s Leaders in the Law award in 2004, and has been listed in the Best Lawyers in America’s Environmental Law category for the last 15 years. He is involved in numerous community activities and has been published extensively.
