Foley & Lardner: Elects Nine New Milwaukee Partners

Attorneys Steven Becker, Frank DiCastri, Paul Jones, Jennifer Karron, Bruce Keyes, Eric Maassen, Michael Matthews, Thomas Mullooly and Rebecca Wickhem Named to Partnership

Milwaukee—Foley & Lardner LLP announced today the promotion of nine attorneys to partnership. The new partners are Intellectual Property attorney Steven C. Becker; Litigation attorneys Frank W. DiCastri, Eric L. Maassen, Michael P. Matthews and Rebecca E. Wickhem; and Business Law attorneys Paul J. Jones, Jennifer G. Karron, Bruce A. Keyes and Thomas McCann Mullooly.

Steven C. Becker is a member of the firm’s Intellectual Property Department. He focuses on counseling clients on patent-related issues, planning and portfolio management, design arounds, brainstorming sessions, pre-litigation enforcement and defense, licensing matters, and non-infringement/invalidity studies. He also represents clients in patent and trade secret litigation matters.

Frank W. DiCastri is a member of the Litigation Department. He concentrates his practice in the areas of creditors’ rights, bankruptcy and commercial litigation. He has represented debtors, financial institutions, creditors’ committees, trustees, secured creditors and unsecured creditors in reorganization cases, liquidations, workouts and other insolvency proceedings.

Paul J. Jones is a member of the Business Law Department. He practices corporate law, with an emphasis in mergers and acquisitions, corporate securities and general corporate matters. He has also represented buyers and sellers in public and private mergers, acquisitions, dispositions and other strategic transactions, and both underwriters and corporate issuers in public offerings of debt and equity securities.

Jennifer G. Karron is a member of the Business Law Department, specializing in consumer credit, privacy and electronic payment transactions. She counsels clients regarding state consumer credit, debt collection and privacy laws, and data security breach issues. She has drafted numerous compliance manuals and disclosures, including privacy and Truth-in-Lending disclosures, for financial institutions and retail businesses.

Bruce A. Keyes is a member of Business Law Department. He divides his time between Brownfield remediation/redevelopment, environmental compliance counseling, transactions and environmental litigation. He also counsels residential and industrial property developers, as well as municipal, nonprofit and institutional clients with regard to remediation and Brownfield redevelopment.

Eric L. Maassen is a member of the Litigation Department. He focuses on complex commercial disputes before federal and state courts and in private arbitrations. He also specializes in reinsurance and insurance dispute resolution and counseling.

Michael P. Matthews is a member of the Litigation Department. He has experience in government enforcement matters, complex commercial litigation, and intellectual property and technology litigation. He also conducts internal investigations in the United States and abroad on behalf of corporations, audit committees, and boards of directors and represents clients in a variety of SEC, criminal, and other government enforcement matters.

Thomas McCann Mullooly is a member of the Business Law Department. His experience in the telecommunications and energy industries includes obtaining approvals and providing state and federal risk analysis for electric and natural gas mergers and acquisitions. He negotiates and analyzes complex contracts, represents parties in disputes before regulatory agencies and provides counsel on the evolving laws and regulations governing the energy industry.

Rebecca E. Wickhem is a member of the firm’s Litigation Department. Her practice includes all types of commercial and business litigation, with a focus on securities and antitrust matters. She has represented clients in state and federal court and in arbitration and mediation proceedings, including companies and individuals in SEC enforcement proceedings and related securities class actions, ERISA class actions, and derivative litigation.
