FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wis. – (March 6, 2006) – Families in the Fox River Valley region can shake off the winter doldrums and enjoy a broad array of engaging activities during EAA’s Family Flightfest on March 18-19. The weekend event at EAA’s AirVenture Museum in Oshkosh will feature numerous, fun-filled activities that celebrate the wonders of the most liberating outdoor activity: personal flight!

The EAA Family Flightfest will bring recreational aviation to life using aircraft tours, flight simulators, models, hands-on aircraft construction projects, and many more aviation-themed activities. Toddlers, grandparents, and all family members in between will find displays and activities suited to their age and their aviation interest.

“We’ve designed even the educational activities to be engaging and entertaining, so that kids may not even realize that they’re learning while they’re having fun,” said Nicole Raudabaugh, the EAA AirVenture Museum’s manager of visitor services.

Contests and raffles will provide families with opportunities to take home prizes.

“Our world-class museum dedicated to recreational flight and innovations in aviation is a great family attraction at any time of the year. During our Family Flightfest weekend, we’ll pull out all the stops to offer even more attractions and activities for the family,” said Tom Poberezny, EAA president. “Whether you’ve visited our museum a dozen times before or are coming for the first time, the Family Flightfest will offer something new and exciting.”

In addition to the event’s many indoor activities, EAA will also offer helicopter rides and other outdoor activities, weather permitting.

The Family Flightfest is included with regular Museum admission: $8.75 for adults, $7.75 for seniors (age 62 or older), and $6.75 for children ages 6-17. Kids ages five and under are admitted for free. An additional fee applies to helicopter rides. In addition, you can enjoy the Family Flightfest and experience the many benefits of EAA membership all year long with a $50 Family Membership that includes everyone in the household.

The EAA AirVenture Museum is located just off Highway 41 at the Highway 44 exit in Oshkosh. The Museum is open Monday through Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sundays from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. EAA members receive free museum admission year-round and family memberships are available.
