Dept. of Commerce: Governor Doyle Announces Milk Volume Production Loan

MADISON – Governor Jim Doyle today announced that Quantum Dairy, LLC, Weyauwega, Waupaca County has received a $600,000 loan from the Department of Commerce (Commerce) Milk Volume Production (MVP) program to increase milk production in Wisconsin.

“My Grow Wisconsin plan calls for a new commitment in our agricultural economy – moving it to the high end by modernizing and expanding Wisconsin’s dairy industry,” Governor Doyle said. “I am pleased that Commerce could help Quantum Dairy, LLC make this investment and bring new jobs to Waupaca County.”

Quantum Dairy, LLC plans to modernize and expand its dairy operation by constructing a new milk parlor, milk house, and three barns. The loan will allow Quantum Dairy, LLC to purchase 1,200 cows. The project will create 13 jobs. The total project cost is $9.9 million.
