Beloit Chamber of Commerce: to Host Food Expo


The Greater Beloit Chamber of Commerce is pleased to be hosting the first ever food expo to promote the economic impact of the Food Technology Industry Cluster that exists in the eight county region surrounding Beloit, WI. Over 170 food processing and food technology companies employ more than 9,000 people in the region.


The event will feature numerous educational breakout sessions as well as an EXPO area for food processors and vendors of related goods and services to exhibit. Shawn Redford, SPAM Museum and Archive Manager, will enlighten and entertain attendees with her luncheon keynote, “Building a Legacy – the SPAM Story.” The event is open to the public. However, pre-registration is required for most activities.


The bi-state Food Technology Industry Cluster is a partnership of food industry businesses with a commitment to solve common problems and grow the vitality and productivity of the industry by acting to:



  • Identify common barriers and threats,

  • leverage resources and develop solutions,

  • articulate issues,

  • seek and develop value-added partnerships, and

  • develop mutually beneficial programs and services

The eight counties in the bi-state Food Technology Industry Cluster are Winnebago, Boone, Ogle, and Stephenson in Illinois and Rock, Walworth, Green, and Jefferson in Wisconsin.
