New Vice President and General Manager to Address Heightened Competition and Issues Specific to Wisconsinites

MILWAUKEE, June 15, 2006 — AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced that Mark Lipford has been appointed vice president and general manager of Wisconsin markets for AT&T Midwest. Based in Milwaukee at AT&T Wisconsin headquarters, Lipford will be responsible for extending the presence and leadership of AT&T in the areas of customer service, marketing and sales. He will work to ensure that Wisconsin residents receive all of the benefits that come from having one of the world’s largest and most advanced communications companies as their service provider.

“Attracting consumers to AT&T products and services goes beyond our delivering the best technology,” said Lipford. “We are going to deliver that technology in a way that exceeds consumer demands and expectations by providing exceptional customer service.”

Paul La Schiazza, president, AT&T Wisconsin, says Lipford brings a strong background in the cable and telecommunications industry and the ability to assist in raising the customer experience to a new level.

“Competition is strong, and as a result, consumers have a wealth of innovative options,” La Schiazza said. “Lipford and his team are going to make sure that Wisconsin residents benefit from the high quality and value of AT&T technologies.”

Since beginning his career with Ohio Bell, Lipford has held a variety of positions within the telecommunications and cable industry. Most recently, Lipford served as vice president and regional manager of Cox Communications in Las Vegas. There he introduced new broadband entertainment services, including Video on Demand, High Definition and the introduction of VOIP telephony.

AT&T offers a range of communications and entertainment services for residential customers, including local and long distance voice, AT&T Yahoo! high speed Internet, AT&T | Dish Network and AT&T Wi-Fi service at several Wisconsin locations. AT&T Homezone, which integrates satellite television programming with high speed Internet access, will be coming to Wisconsin markets later this summer — expanding the current video offerings of the company.

More than 5,000 AT&T employees live and work in Wisconsin. Last year, in Wisconsin, AT&T employees and retirees volunteered more than 103,000 hours, representing more than $1.8 million in sweat equity. Projects included purchasing donating, packing and shipping more than more than $225,000 worth of goods to U.S. military personnel in the Middle East; providing more than 2,000 holiday gifts to children in the Greater Milwaukee area; and donating more than 1,000 backpacks filled with school supplies to children in communities throughout Wisconsin.

Operating globally under the AT&T brand, AT&T companies are recognized as the leading worldwide providers of IP-based communications services to business and as leading U.S. providers of high speed DSL Internet, local and long distance voice, and directory publishing and advertising services.
