MADISON, — WisconsinRx, today announced Rx Savings Plus, a discount prescription drug card program available to all Wisconsin residents through a partnership with CAREINGTON International Corporation, the nation’s leading administrator for discounted health care offerings. The partnership provides Wisconsin residents access to discounts on prescription drugs and discounted service opportunities on additional health related out-of-pocket expenses. The pharmacy savings card is available for a $10 annual fee.
“We have been seeking a best-in-class program partner that will provide access to attractive and significant savings to Wisconsin residents with the most extensive number of participating statewide locations for our members,” said Greg Horstman, Executive Director/CEO of WisconsinRx. “While providing attractive pharmacy related savings at a nominal cost is a cornerstone objective with our program, we also wanted to provide Wisconsin residents access to an expanded menu of savings opportunities across other common and costly out-of-pocket expenses they face including medical, dental, vision, hearing and chiropractic services, and other nonhealth-related services,” Horstman added.
The WisconsinRx and CAREINGTON Rx Savings Plus program partnership provides access to the most comprehensive network of participating providers along with attractive savings opportunities to the cardholder. The highest interest for this program will likely be among the states uninsured and under-insured populations.
WisconsinRx’s strength is in its numbers. The not-for-profit cooperative was founded by three business and labor organizations collectively representing over 500 groups and comprised of 260,000 lives. The purpose of WisconsinRx is to leverage collective purchasing power to lower prescription drug costs and make the prescription drug plans more affordable for its member organizations and their employees and their families.
CAREINGTON International provides access to over 57,000 participating pharmacies nationwide and over 1,000 participating pharmacies throughout Wisconsin.
