A Lake Geneva precision-molded plastics manufacturer has notified
the state Department of Workforce Development that it will shut down in January and lay off 48 workers.
The company – Dickten & Masch, LLC – said it will be
transferring work and equipment from the facility and 999 West Wells St.
to its plants in Ankeny, Iowa, Hattiesburg, Miss. and Nashotah, Wis.
In his Aug. 1 letter to the DWD, CEO Randall M. Perry, said the
plastics operation at the Lake Geneva factory will be permanently closed.
He said some employees may be permitted to transfer.
Many of the workers are represented by the National Amalgamated Worker,
Local 711.
Perry said the closing does not affect workers at the Trostel SEG Cast
Urethane operation that manufacturers at the same location in Lake
Geneva.
