MILWAUKEE – Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek, S.C., announced today that attorney Joseph Pickart has joined the firm’s Milwaukee office tax practice.

Pickart focuses on state and local tax matters, including property tax, sales and use tax, franchise and income tax and transfer fee dispute resolution and tax planning. Pickart has appeared before the United States Tax Court, Federal District Court, Wisconsin Courts and the Wisconsin Tax Appeals Commission.

“Joseph is an accomplished tax attorney who adds depth and experience to our practice with extensive knowledge of the state and local tax law,” said Michael Klinker, Whyte Hirschboeck Dudek, vice president.

Pickart is a member of the Institute of Professionals in Taxation, International Association of Assessing Officers, Wisconsin Association of Assessing Officers, American Bar Association and State Bar of Wisconsin. He speaks and publishes frequently on matters of state and local tax, and is the primary author of the Wisconsin Chapter of ABA Property Tax Deskbook.

Pickart is a 1990 graduate of the University of Iowa Law School. He also holds a B.A. degree from Marquette University. Pickart sits on the Board of the United Performing Arts Fund and is a member of Milwaukee Rotary.
